The original, postmodern 6-story office building is situated on a 1.3-acre corner site between London Wall to the north and Copthall Avenue to the west, at a walking distance of only a few minutes from the underground stations Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Bank. After stripping the building back to the frame, it undergoes an extensive rework and refurbishment, finally increasing the building height to 52.55 m (172,4 ft).
The ground floor level provides 1,860 sqm (20,021 sq ft) retail area and, from level 1 upwards, 30,194 sqm (325,016 sq ft) office space will be created. The main part of the flexibly usable office space is arranged around a central atrium. As from level 5, the building features walkable terraces on a total areal of 1,950 sqm (20,990 sq ft). Such terraces are rarely seen in such a central city location. On the one hand, these terraces are available to the occupants for recreational purposes, but on the other hand, they are also designed to contribute to the sustainability of the building. 60 London Wall has achieved a BREEAM Outstanding score.
Design & engineering, manufacture and installation of structural glazing façade with carrier frames, all-glass balustrades for an overall area of 17,100 sqm (184,069 sq ft).
